Dive Training

Dave Black has been a qualified PADI Staff Instructor since 2001, which qualifies him to teach and certify scuba diving students from entry level through to Assistant Instructor level.

David Black offers a variety of courses from entry level certification through to speciality courses:-

Please follow the links above for more information.

  • Basic Training:-

    • The entry level certification for diving that we offer is the PADI Open Water Diver Course. This 4-day course teaches student divers the foundational knowledge and skills needed to dive safely with a buddy, independent of supervision. The course consists of 5 Academic sessions, 5 Confined Water training sessions and 4 Open Water dives. The price of the course includes Administration, Manual, Dive Tables, Instruction, Equipment Hire, Air Fills and Certification. The certification you gain is recognised by dive centres the world over. For more information about PADI and also about the other services we offer, please follow the links below.

  • Continuing Education - to increase your knowledge of diving and gain more experience under the direct supervision of a PADI instructor:-

    • Advanced Open Water Diver - a course of 5 dives including a Deep Dive, a Navigation Dive and 3 additional Adventure Dives, giving the student diver a structured means to explore special diving interests and gain valuable diving experience in a safe and enjoyable environment.

    • Rescue Diver - this course is a pivotal step in increasing a diver's knowledge and experience. It teaches a diver to look beyond themselves and consider the safety and wellbeing of others. The Rescue Diver course expands the problem prevention and accident management skills the student has learned beginning with the Open Water Diver course.

  • Speciality Courses - to build on your skills and knowledge of diving in an area of interest to you:-

    • Peak Performance Buoyancy - to fine tune and hone your buoyancy skills to make diving safer and more relaxing, also giving more control for other disciplines such as Photography.

    • Dry Suit Diver - wearing a dry suit is more comfortable in the cooler waters around Britain. The dry suit course introduces you to a new buoyancy control technique safely under the supervision of an instructor.

    • Underwater Photographer - take all those fantastic views of the underwater world away with you to show family or friends or as a lasting memory of your experiences.

    • Underwater Videographer - why not take moving images to view on TV or computer giving a more dynamic vision of the aquatic realm?

    • Underwater Navigator - it's important to be able to navigate underwater, to find your way around and, more importantly, to find your way back. This course teaches techniques to do just that using a compass and natural navigation.
